Lectures

The group holds regular dinner meetings which include a talk by a specialist in a particular engineering discipline. More information on upcoming talks can be found on the events page.

These are held on a monthly basis and cover a wide range of topics to appeal to the multidisciplinary membership of the Group. Meetings are open to members and their guests, including partners, and are held each year from January to May and September to December with an AGM in December/January. Attendance at these lectures is also recognised as a contribution towards attaining recognised status within various institutions via continued professional development e.g. becoming a Chartered engineer.

There is a dinner in Jersey before the lectures. It is a set meal and is paid for by the member attending. It is entirely optional and many chose to attend only the talk which is free, although this misses the chance for informal discussion with the speaker and other diners which usually occurs both before and during dinner.

If you are a member, full details of all these events will be mailed to you in advance and your support for the prepared programme is welcomed. If you are not a member but wish to be informed of the Group’s events please contact us.

In Guernsey, the lectures take place at the Princess Royal Center for Performing Arts, and in Jersey take place at the Pomme d’Or hotel in St. Helier. The optional dinner in Jersey starts at 6:30pm followed by the talk which starts at 8pm.

Both members and non-members alike are very welcome to attend these events.
