The Envisage Group operate several specialist divisions with workshops and facilities that allow them to produce prototypes, concept designs, show vehicles and bespoke items – mainly for the automotive and aerospace industries.
While this work uses 3D printing, CNC and similar modern processes Envisage have also championed traditional skills, such as panel-beating and English-wheeling of metal plate, and they continue to train apprentices.
Alongside these services, Envisage also have Caton, (www.caton.uk), a lifestyle brand with their own design – the Healey by Caton. This reimagined car is based on the classic 1950’s Austin-Healey 100/4. It has a coach-built body, built using traditional metal forming techniques, with a modern engine, gearbox, and suspension.
Andy Hunter manages the bespoke metalworking team at Envisage, and he has kindly agreed to come to the islands to talk about his work.
For Jersey lectures, we have started a new way of presenting and this will be at the Ouless Room at the Jersey Museum. The doors will open at 5:00pm for a 5:30pm start, with complimentary tea and coffee on arrival. We have limited capacity so if you wish to attend the lecture free bookings can be made via Eventbrite.
We would like to thank the following companies for sponsoring this event.
