Jersey: Thursday 22nd June 8pm, Pomme D’Or Hotel
The Glen Mallan ammunition Jetty Project was the third and final jetty required to support the £7bn Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carrier programme.
The works involved removing the old jetty and building a new 356m long facility, including a 135m suspended deck jetty, two access bridges and five linked mooring dolphins. In this presentation, Project Director Ian Cussons talks about the challenges faced, the engineering innovation, and programme controls used to deliver this nationally important project on time ready for the second vessel coming into service by December 2021.
For Jersey Lectures – the talk will start at 8:00pm (which is free to attend) but is preceded by an optional dinner, starting at 6:30pm. If you wish to attend the dinner at a cost of £30pp bookings can be made via Eventbrite. If you have any dietary requirements, please email chairman.jsy@cigpe.com.
