The Hubble Space Telescope was launched 31 years ago this April, opening one of the most exciting eras of astronomical discovery. After languishing for seven years on the ground it was finally launched in 1990, only to reveal it had a faulty mirror. By 1993 all was put right and up to the present day it continues to bring us exquisite images and a new understanding of our universe.In this talk Dr. Catchpole of the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge, will tell the story of the telescope and discuss the results
